Membership

Membership is open to all who want to participate and share our objectives. We welcome men, women and kids. Prospective members are welcome to attend any of our regular meetings before deciding on membership. We offer individual and family memberships–the fees for each and an application can be found on the Membership page of the website. We invite you to become a member of GSF, and begin enjoying the many benefits of the club.

Active Military Membership is Free

The club meets monthly, except August. The meetings start with a social hour at 6:00 pm, followed by the program at 7:00 pm. The month of August is set aside for fishing. Monthly meetings are held at Quantum Brewing, 5375 Kearny Villa Rd, #116, San Diego, CA 92123 (858) 254-6481. Have a look at the Event Calendar page of the website for the exact dates and times of the meetings, a description of the programs, and a map to the meeting site. Since the start of the pandemic, some meetings have been held virtually via Zoom. Links to those meetings are provided in the event information. In lieu of a social hour, those meetings start at 6:45pm with club announcements, followed by the program at 7:00 PM.

GSF communicates with its members through the Internet via its website. It includes details of the next month’s program, up-to-the-minute announcements of trips and activities, featured articles, and other topics of timely interest.

The club has a raffle/opportunity drawing and both a live and silent auction. This event is the primary source of funding for GSF’s activities, including its charitable contributions, community outreach, and public education. The Annual Fundraiser is open to anyone who wishes to participate.

There are club fishing trips to: local San Diego lakes, as well as surf fishing and deep-sea offshore fishing. We arrange regular trips to locations in California, Montana, and various other Western States. We have also had club trips to Mexico, Christmas Island and other exotic locations.
